Commerce Street existed as an art strip before Old Town became an entertainment district, yet few newcomers to Wichita even know it’s there. But each Final Friday, the block of old refurbished warehouses, south of Waterman and a block east of St. Francis, brims with activity as artists premiere their newest exhibits. The city has promised to keep it when it builds the new arena nearby, bringing even more people to what could arguably be the hippest single block in Wichita. While you’re strolling Commerce on Final Friday, stop in at Dock 410, a spacious antique shop where a yellow lab named Lady greets visitors.
