The Academy of Fine Art is the creation of Connie Dirks, the art chair at Northwest High School the past 15 years, along with her daughters, Michelle Jeffries and Monica Patino. In addition to its Final Friday exhibits, the Academy also runs a photo portrait studio and offers art classes for all ages throughout the year. Like many of the business sprouting up throughout the Delano district, the Academy is in its first year of business.
